I like to use a metric widget for an announcement widget on multiple dashboards. That way, if I have an announcement I want to tell all my partners without changing all 10 personalized dashboards, I connect it to a summary statistic and make changes in the one field but it updates all the widgets. Any other hacks?
We have the same favorite widget hack! I use the metrics widget pointing to summary sheet fields for SOOO many things. I think my favorite is for "upcoming" dates that change based on what day it is or what's going on with a project. Formulas in the sheet summary and metrics widget for the win!!
I use the metric widget for "Reporting Month" and "As of" date for all of our metrics and month-end task dashboards. One sheet summary flowing to 28+ dashboards. FTW!!!
I love using the metric widget hack as well, especially when needing a way to quickly update multiple dashboard "text, messages, dates, etc." The best way to easily push the new information out, without having to edit dashboards one by one.
